Can Do Kid Family Named Family of the Year

Mill Valley, CA, (January 10, 2005.)

We have all heard inspirational stories about the seemingly impossible achievements of everyday people. Armed with little more than a "can-do attitude," they explored, created, or invented their way into achieving their goals and dreams. For these people, 80% of their achievement was attitude and the two most powerful words in their vocabulary are "I can!"

For one Mill Valley family, Robert and Deborah Luster, and their three children, Emily, Sarah and John, this "can-do" attitude has taken on new meaning with their recent recognition as 2004 Family of the Year by Mill Valley Martial Arts Studio West America Tae Kwon Do. Master Roger Carlon presented the award at West America's annual holiday dinner. "The Luster Family is the embodiment of commitment, passion, and respect, values we at West America instill in our students every day," says Master Roger Carlon.

The Luster Family recently published a children's book, I Can Do Anything. The book is intended to inspire readers, adults and children alike, to live the can-do credo: "I am a CAN DO KID and I CAN DO anything!"

Our plan is to create a CAN DO phenomena that permeates into all aspects of everyone's lives. We are in the business of being family, and we want everyone to know that it works. The Luster Family hikes together, reads together, and we take Tae Kwon Doe together. You can do it too!

"We are deeply touched by the Family of the Year award. Master Roger Carlon has provided us a great opportunity to practice and reinforce the basic life skills and values essential for success in life. Tae Kwon Do is also an excellent form of exercise. Our dream is for all of us to test for our Black Belt as a family," says Robert Luster.
